Michael Miner specialises in government coursework at Harvard University. His research interests include twentieth century diplomatic history, international security, organisational theory, and area studies in East Asia and the Persian Gulf. He has written for or been quoted by several publications and think tanks including the Wall Street Journal, the National Interest, Brookings, and Real Clear World. Mr. Miner has been a non-resident fellow with Pacific Forum of the Center for Strategic and International Studies and conducted research supported by the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs at the Bush School of Government and Public Service. Mr. Miner is also a member of the US-German Next Generation Network at the Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security and Senior Fellow with the Human Security Centre in London. Previously he served as an executive at an international consultancy based in Washington and Boston. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, a member of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, and a recent addition to the Fulbright Specialist Program in the United States Department of State.

Irena Baboi is a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow, researching the future of European Union involvement in the Western Balkans. She also obtained both of her previous degrees from the same university, having completed an MA in Politics and Central and East European Studies and an MSc in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies. Irena’s previous work experience includes internships with AKE Intelligence Group in London, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and United Nations Information Centre in her hometown of Bucharest, Romania, fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, freelance writing and editing for Oxford University Press. She has also been a volunteer with the British Red Cross since 2013. Irena’s research interests include human rights, peacebuilding and statebuilding, conflict prevention, management and resolution, transitional justice, and post-conflict development.

Oleksandra Zadesenets is an undergraduate student at the University of Glasgow, where she is pursuing a degree in International Relations. During her recent internship with the School for Policy Analysis at NaUKMA, she co-authored an analytical article on the socio-cultural aspects of the transformational processes in Ukrainian society following the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, which was presented at a scientific conference. Oleksandra’s research interests cover a broad range of issues that shape international landscape. She is particularly drawn to the constructivist theory of international relations, and her area of research interest encompasses democratic transformations in post-Soviet countries, competitive authoritarian regimes, post-Cold War international affairs, closed autocracies, nationalist and dissident movements, human rights and human security, R2P, cultural diplomacy, war making and peace making.
